About

Where is the Puget Ridge Neighborhood Located?

Roughly, Puget Ridge extends from SW Myrtle St to SW Dawson St bounded by 16th Ave SW and 21st Ave SW.

What We Appreciate About our Neighborhood

  • The Google groups
  • Being able to advertise on the “exchange” Google group
  • The “small-town” feeling
  • People helping each other
  • People taking an interest in the neighborhood
  • People enjoying doing things together
  • Getting inspiration from others–for example, about growing food
  • The Community Orchard at South Seattle College (SSC)
  • Friendly, welcoming people
  • The arboretum and bakery at SSC
  • The opportunity to volunteer in the green spaces (for example, the Graham stairs)
  • So much green space
  • Puget Park
  • People coming out and volunteering
  • Having places to plant native plants
  • It being low-key
  • The College being nearby
  • The Duwamish Greenbelt and the work of the Nature Consortium

What do we want to see Happen in our Neighborhood?

  • Bartering
  • Sidewalks
  • Bioswales
  • Less noise
  • Help with my yard and garden
  • Getting to know more neighbors
  • A “habitat link” from High Point, through our neighborhood, to the Duwamish Greenbelt
  • Acquiring more property for the “park” adjacent to the Graham Stairs
  • More of a trail system in the greenbelt and throughout the neighborhood
  • Drainage solutions–getting rid of the puddles in front of my house
  • Getting rid of the ivy
  • Pedestrian paths on our streets
  • Talking (pleasantly) to neighbors who dump trash so we don’t have to clean up after them
  • More and better communication among all neighbors
  • Meeting more people, getting more involved
  • A monthly hootenanny and barbecue, perhaps in the Tot Lot at 21st and Croft

heehee, I love our neighborhood! Just a reminder, these items (for what we appreciate and want for our neighborhood) came from neighbors throughout Puget Ridge, meeting together to discuss Adopt a Street, and also topics that touch us.

Our Neighborhood Council no longer ‘meets officially’, but unofficially lives on in the activities we come together to do. Everyone is always welcome to come to whatever is happening, and it would be great if we invited our closeby neighbors to something happening in the neighborhood!
